This is London!

London, the second time around.

This is Vietnam and Koh Tao!

Catholic nuns, orphanage, and market in Vietnam (the best hospitality we had the whole trip)...then, mopeds, sand, and snorkeling in Koh Tao ("Turtle Island," in the Gulf of Siam).

Our Vows

Here is what I come to give you, here is what I ask you for.

As I compose this story with you, my best friend,

Let us weave chapters full of love and play.

As I support you in your passions and challenges,

Let our commitments and community strengthen.

As I easily plant the seeds for our marriage,

Let our effort to tend it produce a bountiful garden.

As I am at home dancing in your arms,

Let me die at home in your arms.

This is what I come to give you, this is what I ask you for.

Thank you for asking.

Thank you for saying ‘yes.’

WEDDING DETAILS

James and Amanda were MARRIED!

September 5-7, 2008

Friday - Friends and family converged at Woolman Hill in the early afternoon to set up the decorations: road markers, table flower arrangements, tables, chairs and bedding (for the beautiful people to adorn), a water fountain and tent lights. Then, more people came for the evening pre-wedding party of gospel choir music, pizza, sangria, fireworks and a bonfire.

Saturday - Breakfast and anxiety - all around. The bride's attendants didn't have much to do to make her pretty. It was mostly a waiting game to see how long the rain would hold off. And right when the family photo shoot was over, the heavens unleashed the remnants of Hurricane Hanna. The plentiful food contribution from guests wasn't too far away from the tent. Eventually, when the tent flooded, we danced to contra music in the farmhouse hall.

Sunday - An awesome breakfast greeted the guests and fueled the clean-up operation.

We drove to Delaware for a great mini-moon.

Thank you all for being gracious and generous guests. We hope you enjoyed meeting new people, dancing to something new, sharing in our new life. Peace.

Thank you for coming and making the event that much more special.
